Autumn Wildflower Hugs Handmade Card

Autumn Wildflower Hugs Card

Hi, friends! I’m Lauren from Lauren Taylor Made, and I’m back with another card-making post to share with you today. For this project, I created a warm and cozy autumn card featuring richly colored florals using a mix of Cardstock Warehouse papers and some of my favorite dies from my stash. This project is perfect for celebrating the change of seasons or just sending thoughtful "hugs" to someone special!

Supplies:

Supplies, die cuts, and inks for autumn wildflower card

I began by selecting a beautiful autumn-inspired palette of cardstock: Madero Beach Speckletone, Kraft Speckletone, Mid Green Colorplan, Chartreuse Colorplan, Rust Colorplan, and Slate Colorplan. I die cut various florals and foliage from the Delicate Autumn Stems die set, then used coordinating Distress Inks with blending tools to add depth and dimension to each piece. Crackling Campfire was paired with Rust, Crushed Olive with Chartreuse, Forest Moss with Mid Green, and Vintage Photo with Kraft, each bringing out the richness of the cardstock beautifully. Once inked, I assembled my floral clusters and set them aside.

For the card base, I trimmed Slate Colorplan to A2 size and adhered it to a standard white card base. I die cut a panel of Madero Beach Speckletone using the second-largest rectangle from the Nested A2 Rectangle die set and layered it on top. For a simple offset focal frame, I added a Nested Dash Circle Frame die cut from Kraft Speckletone. I arranged and adhered my florals to the center of the card, then completed the card with a “hugs” sentiment using the Bear Hugs die set, cut from Slate and Kraft cardstock. A few gold glitter Pops of Color added just the right touch of sparkle to finish off this cozy, layered look.
