Gilded Edge Calligraphy Menu and Place Cards

Gilded Edge Calligraphy Menu and Place Cards

Hello, friends! Angenise of @thegracefulpenstudio, and I’m so excited to share this elegant DIY project with you! Using a selection of gorgeous papers from the Cardstock Warehouse, this project is the perfect way to dress up your table for upcoming gatherings.

Supplies:

First, I gathered my selection of beautiful Cardstock Warehouse papers: Natural Colorplan, Verdigris Materica, and Kraft. I started with the menu card first by trimming the Natural Colorplan Cardstock to 4.5 x 8.5 inches and the Verdigris Materica Cardstock to 4.75 x 8.75 inches. Next, I adhered the Natural Cardstock to the Verdigris Cardstock using Scor-Tape.

Then it was time to add the calligraphy using the Deep Olive Monami brush pen. To add the finishing touches, I used the Zig 2-way Glue Pen at the corners of the menu card, then pressed gold foil flakes onto the card. Any additional foil flakes were brushed off with a clean, stiff, dry paintbrush.

For the place cards, I used a mixture of Paper Bag and Verdigris Cardstock papers. I trimmed these to 2 x 3.75 inches. I love personalizing things, and you’re sure to leave a great impression with these hand-calligraphed place cards. P.S. These papers are perfect for calligraphy!

If you’re hosting a large gathering, table numbers are a perfect way to organize seating. Alternatively, you could also use these cards to let guests know the names of each dish and use a table card holder. For the table number cards, I used Kraft Materica Cardstock and trimmed them to 4 x 5 inches. Using the same brush pen, I inked the numbers onto each card.

If you love adding layered details to your tablescape, this next detail will be perfect! I trimmed a 2 x 8.5-inch strip of paper from the Kraft Materica Cardstock before scripting the word Thankful using the Deep Olive brush pen in a modern calligraphy style. This could also make a great bookmark gift!
