It seems crazy that summer is already coming to a close, and it feels like the school year sneaks up on us every year! Every year I like to gift a box of thank you cards to my daughter's teachers so they have some cute cards on hand to write thank you notes. This year I used White Diamond Print Inkjet Glitter paper to make the EASIEST and cutest cards! I'm even including a FREE printable .pdf so you can make your own! Let's get started....
Supplies:
-
Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- White Diamond Print Inkjet Glitter
- Assortment of card bases and card mats
- Paper Cutter
- Scoring tool
- Scor-Tape Adhesive
- Inkjet Printer (I'm using a Canon Pixma)
- Teacher Cards Printable PDF (free for personal use only)
To start, download the printable pdf linked above and print the two pages on White Diamond Print Inkjet paper. There are 2 sheets of 4 cards each, for a total of 8 different cards. You can print as many as you need. I love this sparkly paper so much, and I really LOVE that it doesn't shed when you're working with it. Glittery fun with no mess!
Using a paper cutter, trim each of the printables down into 4 card panels. You can cut just inside the grey lines to make them the perfect size for A2 cards.
To make my card bases and mats, I went through all my paper scraps and cut down random colors that matched the printables. I had fun mixing and matching to create bright and colorful pairings. Some of these colors include Cherry, Scarlet, Candy Pink, Sunflower, Adriatic Blue, Bubblegum, Lavender, Rainbow Holographic Mirror, Cherry Wood Veneer, and Gold Diamond Print Glitter. My card bases are A2 (4.25x5.5), and my mats are 4x5.25. The trimmed printed glitter panels are 3.75x5.

Once you've put together all your pairings and trimmed your cards to the correct size, it's time to layer them together! I used Scor-Tape to assemble mine. I like to add strips of tape to the back, peel off the middle back, peel just a section of the top and bottom piece, and use those "tabs" to line the card panels up on my card base. Once you have it in the correct position, push down, and then pull the rest of the backing off. This makes it easier to center your pieces without them adhering in the wrong spot.

And you're done! I really meant it when I said these are EASY PEASY! I love that these are still handmade, but are also quick enough to make a lot of them at once. And they're a great excuse to use up some of those scraps!
Whether you're making these to gift to a teacher, writing in them to thank a teacher, or a teacher making these for yourself, these cards are an awesome way to send a sparkly little note!

Speaking of scraps, here's a tip for always having card bases on hand. If you're using less than a full sheet for die cutting, cut your sheet of 8.5x11 paper in half before you die cut, and save the extra half in a specific box. If there's only 1/4 of the sheet left after you're done die cutting, cut the remainder down to 4.25x5.5 and keep those in the same box with your half sheets. Now you will always have a box of card bases and mats that are ready to trim and glue, and you're wasting less paper when you die cut! The smaller pieces leftover after trimming go back in my scraps for use with metal dies.

I hope you enjoyed crafting with me today! We'd love to see what you're working on right now. Be sure to show us on Facebook or Instagram. You can use hashtag #cardstockwarehouse to be featured in our stories.
Happy crafting!
