Hi everyone! Natasha of @PoliteCreations, sharing a fun interactive holiday card that features Santa bobbling in a chimney! This card is sure to give someone a laugh. Let's get started!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Chimney Caper Clear Stamp & Die Set
- Distress Oxide Inks: Black Soot, Dusty Concord, Chipped Sapphire
- Versafine Black Ink
- White Acrylic Speckle
- Tools
- Die Cutting Machine
- Paper Inking Palette
- Ink Blending Brushes
- Adhesives
Begin by inking a slightly larger than A2 panel of Vista with Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord, and Black Soot to create an ombre sky towards the top of the panel. We'll cut this down later once the elements are added. Add splatter using the White Acrylic Speckle to mimic snowfall.

Let's assemble each of the die cut elements. Layer the chimney using Mars and Dove Gray die cut elements and liquid adhesive. The snow elements are cut from White Diamond Inkjet Glitter. I love the way this paper sparkles! Layer together the Santa die cuts with liquid adhesive as well. Craft tweezers or a wax pen are very helpful with tiny pieces like the buckle and white tufts on the pants.

Add a wobble or a small paper accordion to the back of santa so he can sit up and subtly move from side to side once in place, but don't place him on the card yet. (If you haven't seen a wobble in action, check them out on YouTube! You can buy them already made, or easily DIY them with two small folded paper accordions. It's a fun way to add a little bounce to your embellishments!)
Now let's layer the pieces on the card. Use foam dots to place the chimney in the center of the panel. Adhere the large snow piece overlapping the bottom of the chimney and extending to the bottom on the panel using foam squares, and add wet glue along the bottom. Now, place the Santa in the chimney by gluing the wobble/paper accordions to the card panel, and then pop the snow overhang on top.
Stamp the sentiment using Versafine Black Ink, and cut the panel down to 5.25 x 4 inches. Mat the panel on an A2 Vista card base, and you're done! Stardream is a great paper for card bases because its very sturdy and has the most beautiful shimmer!

This card comes together quickly but is quite cute, and the bobbling Santa adds a whimsical and interactive touch! You can use this method to make all kinds of die cuts bounce on your cards, and I hope I've inspired you to try something new!
