A festive snow globe perfectly captures holiday magic… even in paper form! Growing up, I always loved snow globes and how truly “magical” they feel. Why not recreate the same feeling with some beautiful cardstock shades and sequins? Follow along to learn how to make this simple shaker topper for your holiday treats.
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Clear Stencil Film
- Embellishments or Sequin Shaker Filler
- Topper Stick
- 1/8” Foam Tape
- Bearly Art® Liquid Precision Glue
- Hot Glue Gun
- Cricut Cutting Machine
Begin by cutting all the snow globe pieces from the Cricut project file provided. The cut file includes a labeled snow globe piece which should be cut from clear stencil film.
To start assembly, gather the pieces for the main portion of the snow globe. Using liquid glue, attach the Stardream Crystal snow base and row of Forest Green pine trees. The shimmer of the Stardream Crystal was perfect for representing the beautiful snow.

Next, glue the piece of clear stencil film to the back of the Dove Gray snow globe border. This creates a clear ‘window’ for the shaker topper.
Now it’s time to begin creating the shaker effect for the topper. Place the 1/8” Foam Tape in a circle closely following the edge of the snow globe. Once the foam tape is in place, you can add the delicate Stardream Crystal and Stardream Vista snowflakes. Check out those perfect, clean cuts!

With the foam tape in place, there is a border to contain the sequins / shaker filler of your choice. I chose two different colors of sequins in pretty shades of holographic white. Next, remove the protective layer from the foam tape, revealing the adhesive layer beneath it. You can now attach the front piece of the snow globe with the clear stencil film.

To ensure that all the foam tape is completely covered, I added a slightly thicker circle to the front of the snow globe using liquid glue. Then glue the Stardream Silver snow globe base to the bottom. I just love how the Dove Gray and Stardream Silver shades complement each other.
With the rest of the snow globe completed, glue on the festive Lessebo Cherry bow. You can choose whichever color best fits your holiday décor/theme.
For the final step, glue the additional snow globe cut outs to the back of the topper for additional sturdiness. Then add an acrylic topper stick or toothpick to the back using hot glue.

This festive snow globe shaker topper is ready to adorn a holiday sweet treat! Using the Cricut cut file, this topper can easily be re-sized to make it larger, if desired. This size was perfect for a mini bundt cake. You could also add a string, write a name on the base, and use them as gift tags!
