Hello there, friends! I’m Angenise from The Graceful Pen Studio, and this is my first card-making post with the design team. If you find yourself rushing to create cards for your family and friends during the holiday season, I have the perfect solution: start in July! No one will judge you for playing Christmas carols or even being dressed up in your holiday attire to help you get in the mood. I love all things vintage glam, which inspired this card design. Deep and mid-tone greens combined with gold shimmer and pearl embellishments help bring this design together with beautiful papers from Cardstock Warehouse. I can never resist a beautiful handmade card, and I’m sure you’ll feel the same after using the gorgeous heavyweight papers from Cardstock Warehouse.
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Cutting and scoring board
- Cutting machine
- SVG Cut Files: Dove and Peace Card SVG files from The Graceful Pen Studio on Etsy
- Adhesive pearls (small)
- Corner rounder paper punch
- Bone folder
- Craft tweezers
- Adhesives:
First, I gathered my selection of gorgeous rustic Cardstock Warehouse papers: Racing Green Colorplan, Verdigris Materica, and Diamond Print Glitter papers. To build the base, I trimmed the Racing Green paper to 10x7. After scoring at 5 inches and folding the base, I used a corner rounder punch on the bottom corners. Next, I added my SVG files to Cricut Design Space and cut a 6.75x4.75 vintage oval from the Verdigris Materica paper. If you want extra dimension, you can adhere the vintage oval to the card base using foam tape (like I did) or simply adhere it using Scor-Tape. (*Note- if you don’t want to cut your own card bases, you can order them pre-cut and scored!)

For the dove, I used Quartz Metallic Stardream and sized it to 4x3 before cutting with my Cricut. The Dove Flourish Overlay was cut at the same size from Gold Diamond Print Glitter cardstock. The Olive Branch was sized to .75x1.5 before cutting from Racing Green Colorplan cardstock. After cutting, I assembled them on the left side of the Vintage Oval, then used Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to adhere the overlay onto the dove. I adhered the Olive Branch to the Vintage Oval using the Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue before adhering the dove with Scrapbook Adhesives Crafty Foam Tape for extra depth.

For the Peace sentiment, I used Gold Diamond Print Glitter cardstock and sized the SVG to 4x2.5 before cutting. To make it easier, I used craft tweezers to hold the letters, then used Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to adhere the sentiment to the bottom right corner of the Vintage Oval. Alternatively, you could print the sentiment on the Gold Diamond Print paper and size a smaller vintage oval to fit your card before cutting.

To finish the card, I added adhesive pearls to the right and left borders of the Vintage Oval, and even used one to create the eye for the dove. Finally, I added pearls to all four corners of the card.

I absolutely love how beautiful the gold shimmer looks against the green papers, adding to the vintage glam look of the card. Making a Christmas in July card was the perfect way to stay cool inside and keep cool during the hot summer season.
