Hi, Crafty Friends!! If you’re looking for a fun project to use as party favors or send your kids to school with fun holiday snack boxes, look no more! Today I’ll be walking you through how to make these fun M&M Boxes and showing you how to decorate them for any theme!
Materials:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock papers:
- Cut File: M&M Box (Blank Template)
- M&M Mini Candy or other tube candy
- Sticker Paper or text weight paper
- Electronic Cutting Machine
- Adhesives:
- Embossing Machine & Folders (Optional)
The first thing you will need to do is upload the template to your cutting machine and choose your fonts, accents, etc. The file comes as a blank template, and you can add your own designs. You can add clip art from any source you want, and choose which layers you want to offset or duplicate to create as many layers as you want.
I chose an astronaut and planet image and printed them on White Diamond Print Glitter paper to add some sparkle to the design.
I started my assembly by first gluing together the age and name of the birthday boy, followed by adding foam tape for some depth to the clipart and offset layer that would later go on the front of the box.

This next part is optional, but I decided I wanted to emboss the very front layer with stars. Note: the file did not come with these two additional layers; to create them, I duplicated the box and sliced the front piece. Then I did two insets to get two smaller layers.
To emboss, I put my cardstock on the inside of the folder and ran it through my crank die cutting machine. Next, I decided I wanted to use foam tape to add depth to my layers. This helps the designs really pop off the box. I think the stars add extra cuteness!

Now we’re going to begin assembling the base of our box. I folded along all of the dashed score lines and then grabbed the insert, which is the candy holder. This piece will serve as a corner piece, so you’ll want to fold it as such. Then I glued the tabs - they should be on the top and bottom of where the hole is so they are not visible to the naked eye when looking at the final product.

Next, we’ll flip over the box so we can glue the corner insert into the inside of our box. I do this one half at a time by applying glue and waiting til it’s dried. Once the first half is dried, I fold up the box and do the same to the other half. Once both sides are in place, I move forward with gluing the box shut.

The next part is very easy, we’re going to use the interlocking flaps on the bottom to close the box. Start with the boxy wide flap, followed by the two in the middle and then insert the pointy one to close. Now that the box is done, I’m going to add my two top layers - I used foam tape again, but this is completely optional.

Now place your sticker label onto the candy and slide it into the box. Here’s where you can fill with candy, small bubbles, playdoh, etc. Once that's done you can use the flaps at the top of the box to close it.

Finally, we can add our decorated front pieces to the box and display our pretty project! You can use these as decor during the party, and then send them home with your guests as the perfect party favor. If you want to be really fancy, you can personalize the guests names on each box.

I hope this project inspired you to Make Something Beautiful®!
