It’s Farmer’s Market season, and I absolutely love doing theme parties! One of my friends who LOVES the Farmer’s Market is having a baby and I thought this “Locally Grown” baby shower would be the perfect theme! I included all of her favorite foods from the market, and this banner is easy to customize to include your favorites, too! Let’s get started…
Supplies Needed:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Adhesives:
- Twine or Ribbon
- Hole Punch
- Cricut Electronic Cutting Machine
Open the cut file and adjust any of the colors, text, or sizing that you want to change. If you want to resize the whole banner, you can “select all” and resize them all at once. I like my pennants on the bigger side so they really stand out! You can find all the colors I am using listed above, and see the swatches below. (The font I used for my banner is "Barbie Berry" from Creative Fabrica, but I added a similar one to the Cricut project.)

Cut all your pieces out and organize them. I use the 2x setting for the 100 lb. Colorplan since it is thicker, but the Lessebo can be cut in one pass. I love die cutting with these papers!
Let's start with the “locally grown” banner. The onesie, overalls, diaper, and bib are super easy because they are only two layers. Glue these together with liquid glue, and then do the same with all of the letters and their offset layer.

Lay out your pennants in the order you want them to go, and then attach the letters to each pennant. To give this banner some dimension, I am using foam pop dots to make them pop a bit! This is technically optional, but I think it really helps elevate the look of your banner, so I don’t recommend skipping it.

Now it's time to make the farmers market garland. This one has a lot of pieces, so I like to sort them out before I start. Let’s start with the little corn. Layer together the two yellow pieces with liquid glue, and then attach the green leaf layer. The rest of the vegetables, fruits, and foods come together the same way as the corn, simply layering the different pieces together with liquid glue.

The strawberry jam and jar of pickles have a few more layers but are still very easy to put together. If you forget which order to layer them in, you can refer back to the Cricut file. This is also a great time to include any other images you want to use, such as your favorite fruits, a loaf a bread, a wedge of cheese, etc.

The last step is to attach your pennants to some twine, string, or ribbon. You can do this however you like, but here are three different options Cardstock Warehouse recommends:
- Punch two holes in the top of each pennant and run the string through them. This is the fastest and easiest method, but does require holes in your design.
- Take a small strip of paper, punch a hole at each end, fold up the ends, and attach the middle of the rectangle to the back of the pennant. This will hide the string behind the pennants, but still allow the pennants to be slid around to adjust the length. Make sure your hole isn't too big for your string size, or they will slide around too much.
- Hot glue the ribbon to the back of the pennant. This option does not allow for adjustment later, but does make the banner very sturdy and more wind-resistant, so this is a good option if you are having your party outside.

We haven’t settled on a venue for the baby shower yet, so I decided to hold off on stringing mine until I know where it will hang, but look how cute they look all laid out together! I can’t wait to get the rest of these details together and celebrate my friend’s “locally grown” new arrival!

Even if a "locally grown" theme isn't what you're after, I hope this blog showed you how to can choose Cricut images of any theme you like and turn them into a beautiful and meaningful decor item.
