Summer is coming, which brings summer parties! I enjoy having people over "just because" in the summer, and I love making a little something that everyone can leave with. Who said party favors are just for kid's parties? These adorable tutti frutti favor bag toppers and lemon favor boxes are easy to make and are perfect for your summer gatherings! Let's get started...
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Adhesives:
- Cellophane Treat Bags
- Cricut Electronic Cutting Machine
- Cricut Design Space cut files:
Start by cutting out all of your pieces. I have both Cricut files linked above. You can alter them however you like, for example, I chose not to cut the detail layer of the leaf on the lemon box, and left out the ice cream bag topper. You can find the paper colors I used listed above. I chose bright colors that match the fruit gummy candies I am going to put inside them.

Let's start with the lemon favor boxes. Gently bend all four flaps of the lemon, as we are going to curl them upwards and connect them. These pieces are not scored because you do not want a crisp fold, just a gentle bend, so they look more bulbous and round. Bring together the two flaps with the heart‑shaped tabs and slide the tab with a slit over the heart‑shaped tabs. This will secure three of the four sides.
Glue the green leaves to the tabs, ensuring not to spread them out too wide. Then, fill your box with your chosen treats.
Now take the other flap with the slit and put it through the leaves and secure it. Your lemon box is done! You could also turn these into other fruits by changing the colors of the papers and the shapes of the leaves.

Now let's make our watermelons! Take all three round pieces and fold them on their score line down the middle, then glue them on top of each other to build the watermelon. The green goes on the bottom, then the white, then the pink. Next, glue on the seeds, using the little cut marks around the pink circle as a guide.
Fill your cellophane bag with treats and fold the top of the bag down. Place double‑sided tape on the inside of both halves of the watermelon, and sandwich your treat bag in the middle of the watermelon taco shape, creating a bag topper. If you do not have double‑sided tape, you can use a stapler to seal the plastic bag and then glue on the topper, or just use a stapler through the whole thing.

We are going to repeat those same steps for the orange topper. I layered my white scalloped circle on my orange circle, then the white pith piece, then added the orange sections using the cut guides on the pith for placement. Use the same double‑sided tape method (or stapler) to attach your orange fruit topper to the bag.

Now you are ready to wow your guests with little adorable favors! Stage these on decorative trays or cutting boards around your party for a sweet little treat that doubles as cute decorations! And don't we all love a dual‑purpose paper craft? You can create bag toppers for any theme using basic shapes, so don't be afraid to experiment to create your own fun party favors!
