Hi everyone! Natasha of @PoliteCreations, joining you with a fun jewel tone holiday card with lots of adorable little die cuts and beautiful papers! Let’s get started…
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Cocoa Wonderland Etched Dies
- Petite Blooms and Sentiment Die Set
- Rhinestones or enamel dots
- Tools
- Die Cutting Machine
- Paper Inking Palette
- Wax Stick
- Adhesives:
- Optional: Black Flair Pen, Red Flair Pen
Step one... die cut! I first die cut the base of the mug from White Glitter and the face from Comoscio. I cut the eyebrows from Crystal Metallic. To make things easier for myself, I die cut all of the smaller dies from the Cocoa Wonderland set from each of the remaining colors. You can see a sample of all of the pieces below. I plan to create more cards in the same color scheme, so these will not go to waste. You can die cut each specific piece from the desired color of your choosing if you find that easier.

I built the base of the mug first, starting with the face. I did not want to pop out the eyes and mouth to later layer cardstock behind, so I simply used flair pens to color them. Once that was complete, I added the eyebrows in Crystal Metallic and the cheeks in Rose Quartz Metallic. I then popped the mustache (Crystal Metallic) up using a foam square and then adhered the nose (Rose Quartz Metallic) on top with wet adhesive.
I then adhered the face onto the beard base with wet adhesive. I grabbed the mug rim (Fuchsia) and details (Gold Glitter), I adhered them together with wet glue and added foam squares to the back to pop on top of the face. I also adhered the mug handle to the back of the beard base.

Moving on to the mug topper, I first chose a large tree and added ornaments and a star. I then put together one of the larger ornaments with wet adhesive.
I wanted these to be layered onto something, so I chose a Crystal Metallic whipped cream die cut and began adding elements into place. I made sure to create depth by adhering trees at different heights, adding some on the back as well. I also used foam squares to make elements pop more.

Once complete, I adhered the topper to the mug.

I die cut a sentiment from the Petite Blooms and Sentiment Die Set from Marrs Green. I then cut an A2 panel of White Glitter and a 3.75 x 5 inch panel of Birch Wood. I used foam to pop the Birch panel up onto the White Glitter. I then popped up my mug and finally popped up my sentiment at the bottom. I added crystal adhesive gems for a bit of sparkle!
This card is full of dimension and color, and I love this jewel tone color scheme for the holidays! What color scheme do you go for when decorating your home for the holidays? Do you use the same when making holiday cards?
