Rainbow XO Anniversary Card

Rainbow XO Anniversary Card

Hey crafty friends. So, I have a thing for anything that has XO on it. Not sure why I love it so much but, I do. This card is inspired by my weird love for all things XO and I thought I would throw in some rainbow. When I was done with the first card, I had enough to make a bonus card. So let’s get started.

supplies for xo rainbow anniversary card

I started by cutting different widths of strips of card stock for the rainbow order. I used Wild Cherry, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop, Gumdrop Green, Blue, Sapphire and Grape Jelly. You can do this with a strips die or just a paper cutter.

rainbow paper strips

I used a piece of printer paper to glue the strips onto in rainbow order. This makes it easier to die cut through the paper. I glued them on a diagonal, alternating the different widths. Then I die cut the X and O.

I die cut more of the X and O’s in Onyx (3 times),  White Glitter once and in Pure White (twice).

For the rainbow XO, I glued the two white X’s and O’s for dimension, then added the rainbow die cut on top. For the Onyx die cut I glued all 3 black pieces together.

I used a heart embossing folder with Pure White cardstock and embossed two backgrounds. I then trimmed those down ⅛” on all sides.

I matted the polka dot background onto Onyx cardstock. The rainbow xo has the Glitter White die cut frame around it and the Onyx xo has the rainbow frame around it. I stamped the sentiments on Pure White cardstock with black ink and die cut those. I popped them up on foam tape for dimension. I finished with Reflection Dew Drops.
