Hi, friends! I’m Lauren from Lauren Taylor Made, and I’m back with another card-making post to share with you today. I love this Christmas tree die and I knew it would look great in the deep, rich greens from the Colorplan Collection. Grab a hot cocoa and let's get started!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Craft Supplies:
- Trim A Tree Thinlits Dies
- Popsiclesticks - Mini Slimline Stitched Layers Dies
- Lined Circles Embossing Folder
- Pinkfresk Studio Ink Pads: Peony, Mulberry Blush, Lemon, Sunshine, Marigold, Lush Forest, Paradise, Atlantis, Doe, Gathered Twigs
- Kuretake - Gansai Tambi Gem Colors Pigments
- Adhesives:
I began this card by die cutting all the pieces from the Trim A Tree Sizzix Thinlits set. I cut the tree layers from Forest Green and Racing Green Colorplan cardstocks and cut the tree trunk from Kraft Speckletone cardstock.
For the star and ornaments, I used White Diamond Glitter cardstock, then added color with blending brushes and different inks so the star turned a warm yellow and the ornaments turned shades of blue and pink.

I layered all of the die cut pieces together with liquid glue. The tiny ornaments are so cute and sparkly!
I splattered green gem pigment watercolor over the tree to give it a festive shimmer before attaching the trunk, ornaments, and star using liquid glue.
For the background panel, I used another piece of Kraft Speckletone cardstock and die cut it with the largest mini slimline stitched die from Popsiclesticks. Once that was cut, I ran the panel through the Lined Circles embossing folder, which added great texture and a perfect backdrop for the bold layered tree. The soft kraft color helps all the greens and glittered pieces stand out without feeling too busy.

I created a mini slimline card base that measures 3.5 by 6.5 inches when folded, and glued the embossed background to the front. After that, I attached my completed tree right in the center of the card. The combination of textured kraft cardstock, deep green layers, and glittery accents gives this card a classic holiday feel while still letting the colors shine. It is such a fun way to let beautiful cardstock be the star of the project.
