I am a huge fan of banners, buntings, and garlands for any party or occasion. This rainbow garland is so simple to make, even without a die cut machine.
To start, you will need:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Scissors
- Glue Gun
- Glue Pen
- Gold & White Twine
- Die Cut Machine, Circle Cutter, or Circle Stencils (You can find these using items from your home!)
Using your die cut machine, circle cutter or even just cups, jars and bowls of different widths, cut out your circles with the largest circle being the first color in your rainbow. Take the circles and cut them in half. Glue them together by lining up the bottom edge and stacking from the biggest at the bottom to the smallest at the top.
I cut out some white and silver sparkle clouds to add to the garland too!
Decide how long you want your banner to be and cut enough string with an additional 2-3 feet on each end for hanging. Find the middle of the string as that will be where you start to hang your rainbows. Put a line of hot glue on the top of the back of your rainbow. Holding the string with both hands push the center point into the hot glue and hold it there for a few seconds until it dries. Continue to do this with the remaining pieces and use a ruler if you would like to space them evenly.
And that’s it! I love this version of a rainbow because it does not have to be measured or cut perfectly, and it still comes out looking amazing. Plus, it is a simple enough DIY to get even the littlest hands involved!
