For this background, I used the 8.5x11 size paper for this so that I could automatically create a 1" border around the entire design. I started with some Pure White cardstock. I freehand drew a dripping pattern in pencil and cut it out. Then I added the next color and drew some more drips and cut that out. I continued this until I had filled the entire page. I then turned each strip over so that the pencil lines wouldn’t show and glued them down to the Parcel Wrap Kraft cardstock background.

When I started this layout I was aiming for a dripping paint look. However, when I got to this point it completely reminded me of ice cream. So I thought it would be perfect for a birthday themed layout. I used stickers and die cuts from Crate Paper that went perfectly with the colors I chose and embellished my page.

I chose a black and white photo so that the colors were neutral and stand out from the colorful background. I backed the photo with some Silver Mirrisparkle Glitter cardstock. To finish, I added the title and voila!
