The arrival of summer means that wedding season is in full swing! It can be a challenge to find a perfect gift for the happy couple, especially if they do not have an established registry. A gift card is a great way to allow them to select something from their favorite store or pick up the tab for date night at a local restaurant. Follow along to see how to make this simple gift card holder, using sweet pastel Cardstock Warehouse shades. The pastel shades and sweetheart cake topper had me daydreaming of vintage weddings with powder blue tuxedos and poofy-sleeved wedding dresses.
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Bearly Art Precision Glue
- Cricut Cutting Machine

Start by cutting all the gift card holder pieces from the project file provided. This project is an existing “Make it Now” Cricut project available to Cricut Access users. I modified the colors slightly from the original but kept the size and structure the same.
Next, glue together the small gift card holder details; the layered cake topper in Stardream Coral and the three-tiered scalloped piping in Colorplan Powder Green/Stardream Aquamarine. I just love the shimmery, pastel color combination for this sweet wedding cake.
With the details complete, you can move on to the insert portion of the gift card holder. Using liquid glue, attach the top-tier Stardream Opal piece to the Lessebo Ivory base. Then glue on the finishing details. (The sweetheart topper and scalloped piping.) This finished piece is where the gift card will sit.
Now it’s time to complete the rest of the gift card holder. Glue the second and third tier cake pieces to the front of the Ivory-colored cake. Then, carefully add on the last scalloped piping details on each tier.
For the final step, place a thin line of glue around the outer edge of the backer, making sure not to place glue along the top edge. Place the finished cake front on top. The gift card insert portion will fit inside the pocket created.
Position the gift card of your choice inside the insert portion and slide it into the cake’s base. Any way you slice it, this wedding cake gift card holder is adorable!
