Flowers in a Frame Handmade Greeting Card

Flowers in a Frame Card

Hi everyone! Natasha of @PoliteCreations, sharing a high contrast card. Never underestimate how beautiful a pop of color on a black and white background can be! Let's get started...

Supplies:

Start by die cutting your pieces. I listed the flower dies I am using above, but you can use whatever flower dies you have on hand. I die cut the flowers from Canary and Factory Yellow, the stem and leaves from Kelly Green, and the stamen from Madarin. I then used Mustard Seed distress ink to ink the bottoms of the flowers. Prize Ribbon and Twisted Citron add depth to the stem and leaves. Inking your die cuts is a great way to add more dimension!

Assemble the flowers using wet glue on the stamen and a foam square to add depth between the flower layers.

Next, I die cut the scallop frames from White and cut down a rectangle to back the frame from the set. I stamped my sentiment in the top left corner of the white panel, making sure I left room to put my flowers in the bottom right. Don't glue down your flowers just yet. This was only a test fit.

Add foam to the back of the frame and pop it up with thin strips of foam tape on the stamped panel, but don't press down the bottom edge. Tuck the flower in at the bottom of the frame and snip off the excess stem. I used liquid glue for the bottom of the stem, then used foam tape on the flowers to pop them up on top of the frame. Now you can firmly press down the bottom section of your frame.

Attach the elements to an A2 card base of Sirio Ultra Black. I love the dramatic effect this adds to the card! Add gems for a little sparkle, and you're done! P.S. Did you know you can order pre-cut card bases and mats to save you time when making lots of handmade cards?
