Elegant Embossed Christmas Cards

When Christmas in July calls, paper lovers answer! Hey there, I’m Angenise with @thegracefulpenstudio, and today’s post shows a fun and simple way to make beautiful elegant cards in an hour or less. 

If you’re like me, Christmas sneaks up on you and before you know it, the scramble is on to come up with ideas for Christmas cards. Let me help with the overwhelm and get your creative juices flowing early with ideas. These cards are great to make in bulk, so grab a stack of your favorite cardstock colors and join me! Here's what I am using:

Supplies:

• Cardstock Warehouse cardstock papers:
  • Stardream Pearlescent Metallic 105 lb. Jupiter, Crystal, Fairway, and Mars
• Adhesives:
  • Bearly Art Liquid Precision Glue®
  • Foam Tape
• Tools:
  • Die Cutting/Embossing Machine with embossing folders- I'm using the Spellbinders Playful Poinsettia 3D Embossing and Die Set
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scoring board
  • Bone folder

The basics of what we are going to do today are: cut your paper, emboss Stardream panels, die cut shapes, and then layer with glue and foam tape. I am a visual learner, so I like to make videos of my process so you can see exactly what I am doing. 

I cut my papers myself because I didn't have a full plan when I started crafting, but if you wanted to make your cards the same dimensions and make a bunch of them at the same time, you can order A7 folded and flat pre cut cards to skip the cutting step!

When you’re short on time or have a ton of cards to make, this is the perfect way to make them in bulk and have each one vary in style. You can experiement with different embossing folders and dies, and even emboss shapes like hearts, stars, etc to get a similar look.

Of course you could always add pearls, sequins or rhinestones, but I chose the less-is-more look for these because the paper is so beautiful on it's own. Whether you’re a minimalist or maximalist, you do you. That's the great part about paper crafting, the only limit is your imagination!
