Neon Birthday Cake Topper

Hi everyone! Natasha of @PoliteCreations, joining you today with a fun cake topper. My daughter is turning 7 and wanted to include animals in her party, so a bright Lisa Frank–inspired cake topper was in order.

Supplies:

The files used come from Creative Fabrica. I used the Wild Topper Base SVG, the letters, and the number 7 SVG from the bundle. I created additional layers for the base by making a ½-inch offset to all of the layers except the sign and the sign frame.

I cut each of these layers out using the paper colors listed above. I love how fun and bright these colors are! The white glitter is used for the sign and one of the background layers. I cut four of the top detail layers of the 7 in black, and I cut the backer of the 7 in white. I sized down the letters and cut them twice from each color.

With everything cut, I began assembly. I placed foam adhesive squares between each layer, stopping before it was time to add the sign and name.

To assemble the number 7, I glued all of the black layers of the 7 together. I then took scraps and added those to the bottom leopard portion of the 7 and cut away any excess. Once that was complete, I glued on the white backer. If you’d like the number to be hidden behind the fence frame, consider making the top layer thinner. I wanted mine to be thick and stand out!

I then moved on to the name for the sign frame. Since I cut two of each letter, I stacked those using a foam square and adhered them with wet glue onto the sign banner. I played around with placement before deciding to fully pop the number up. Again, I used foam squares to adhere all remaining elements.

Here is the completed topper before adding sticks or thin dowels to make it a proper cake topper. It is lightweight, and my daughter was excited once it was complete, so I am satisfied for now. Thank you for joining me today!
