Hi, friends! Ivy here from ivypinkmade. I am such a sucker for floral dies. I just can’t get enough of them! I love this one that I’m sharing with you today so much so let’s jump right in.
To start, cut the Sweet Tooth cardstock base into a slimline card. A slimline card is any size that would fit in to a #10 envelope which is4 1/8 inches high by 9 1/2 inches long.
I cut the card to 3.75 x 6.5. If you want a longer card just add an inch or two.
Next I trimmed the bottom edge diagonally about 2” up on the side.
To add an embossed texture, use the herringbone embossing folder, or an embossing folder of your choice, and run it through your die cutting machine.
I love this layered flower die cut from We R Memory Keepers®. The layers really add texture and it cuts so well through the 100 lb. cardstock papers from Cardstock Warehouse. The die packaging shows a guide how to layer the pieces once it's cut.
Use the flower dies and cut the flowers. For the larger flower I used different shades of blues for each layer. But for the next flower I used Mandarin and Banana Split. Playing with the different colored layers really change up the flower's look, so have fun with it!
I used Zip dry adhesive to glue the layers together. Another idea though is to use foam tape in between each layer of flowers to give the flowers depth.
Here is what the flowers look like once they're all layered.
Now it's time to position the flowers on the card. I used foam tape of some flowers to give them dimension.
Once the flowers were positioned, I cut strips for the bottom edge to add a peek-a-boo design.
To finish off the card you know I love sparkles! I added some sequins and rhinestones and used a stamp to add the sentiment.
Here is the finished card - so pretty right?
