Hey, crafty friends! Melissa here from Sweet Buttercup Designs. Do you remember being a kid and being obsessed with bubbles? I've decided to turn the feeling of playing with bubbles in the summer into a party theme! These adorable bubble tags and paper treat bags make an adorable party favor that will have you feeling the nostalgic joy of childhood summers. Let's get started!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse cardstock papers:
- Liquid Glue
- Hole Punch
- Ribbon
- Electronic Cutting Machine
Start by cutting all of your pieces. I used the Etsy file linked above to make two different sizes of tags- larger ones to put on big bottles of bubbles, and smaller ones to put on paper "jelly bag" treat bags. You can size your bags and tags to whatever you need to accommodate the bubbles or other treats you want to use in the bags.
To add names to your tags with your Cricut, use the "text" feature and "attach" the text layer to the top layer of the bubbles bottle. You can also write the names on with a pen or marker after they're assembled.
I created an offset layer for the background of the bubbles tags, which I cut in the Rainbow Holographic paper. I love how this paper mimics the way light reflects off of bubbles!
I started with my bigger bubbles tags. Attach the color background piece on top of the holographic offset piece using liquid glue. Then add the back layer of the label of the bottle, the top layer of the label, and the back layer of the lid. Finally, attach the lid front and the bubble wand. Look how cute this finished bottle is!
To turn these into tags, I used my hole punch to add three ribbons in coordinating colors to each tag. I love how these colors look together! Who says pastels are just for Easter?!
Now let's make the smaller versions! These have all the same layers, but I used a smaller whole punch and bakers twine for these since they are smaller and will be tied to the paper bags.
Time for the bag! Jelly bags are super trendy right now, and the paper versions are just as cute! I am using the "retro bag" Cricut file #M505CEEC4. I sized mine to hold some small candies and treats that I bought, but you could also size these to hold a set of bubbles bottles. Just measure your bottles or treats and resize the bag as needed.
These are simple to assemble by folding on the score lines and then gluing the tabs to the inside of the longer sides.
Tie your adorable little tag to the bag, and these are ready to fill! Add some coordinating crinkle paper if you'd like some more texture. I love using the 100 lb. Colorplan for DIY treat bags because it cuts really well and also makes sturdy favors!
Now your party favors are ready for a bubble-filled party! You could use these die cut images as cupcake toppers, pieces of a banner, or DIY silverware holders. Use your imagination to make your party as decorative as you like!
