Back to School Paper Mosaic Scrapbook Layout

Hi everyone! Today, I’m sharing a layout I created using the Merry-Go-Round Cardstock Multi-Pack. I love using the multi-packs because the amazing people at Cardstock Warehouse have taken the color palette guesswork out of it for you by perfectly pairing the best cardstock colors. The Merry-Go-Round collection is one of my favorites!

Supplies Needed:

  • Adhesive (Zig 2-Way Glue Pen)
  • Cutting machine or craft knife
  • Paper trimmer or scissors
  • Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers:
    • Merry-Go-Round Cardstock Collection
    • Smart White Cardstock
    • Sirio Ultra Black Cardstock
    • Bianco Pergamenata Parchment

Optional:

  • Sequins
  • Embellishments
  • pen

Layered letters to create shadow effect

I chose to create a big focal point on my layout using a simple question mark from a font on my computer. I also chose a couple of fonts and cut out the title using 3 colors from the multi-pack. I then cut the same title in Sirio Ultra Black to create a shadow effect. I adhered the title pieces together using the Zig 2-way Glue pen to make it simple. If you do not have a cutting machine, you can recreate the same effect by using a craft knife and cutting out a simple shape like the question mark and you could use alpha stickers for your title.

I cut a 2-inch strip from each of the papers. Then I cut two 2-inch squares from each strip. I chose to take some inspiration from quilting and use half-square triangles to create my geometric background. So, I cut each one of my squares in half to create triangles. I used the offcut from the question mark to adhere my triangles to. There was no real plan for this. Just use whatever looks good to your eye. This would also be a stunning way to do an ombre using one of the tonal Multi-Packs, such as the Winter Blues or Valentine’s Day collections.

The rest of the layout is just embellishing. I added a layer of Bianco Pergamenata Parchment Paper and Sirio Ultra Black behind the photo. Then I used my favorite pen to doodle around the question mark and the outside of the layout. I finished off using sequins to add some sparkle and bling.
