3D Cardstock Paper Rollerskate

3D Paper Roller Skate

This 3d paper roller skate might be the coolest 3D favor box I've ever seen! Let's make one together!

Supplies:

  • Cardstock Warehouse Papers:
    • Stardream Rose Quartz, 105lb
    • Stardream Amethyst, 105lb
    • Stardream Crystal Metallic, 105lb
    • Stardream Vista, 105lb
    • Stardream Gold, 105lb
    • Sirio Ultra Black, 104lb
  • Ribbon, 40in
  • Liquid Glue (I used Bearly Arts™)
  • Cricut Cutting Machine
  • 3D Roller Skate File (Free via MR JO CRAFT on Youtube/Instagram. Files are for personal use only.)

You'll start by adding the file to your cutting machine. Watch the MR JO CRAFT video linked above to get the files and to see how to format them for your particular machine. I cut my pieces out of Amethyst Stardream, Rose Quartz Stardream, and Crystal Stardream. I just can't get enough of that shimmer!

The wheels are where you’re going to spend a majority of your time assembling so it’s probably best to start there. I started with the smaller wheel piece and folded one end outward and the other end inward. Then I glued it shut to create a cylinder, and placed one of the small white circles inside to hide the tabs.

Next grab the bigger tab and fold the tabs inward. Create a circle and glue. The rectangular pieces can be folded and glued to create a “bar” that will allow the wheels to move. Then you can glue the flat pyramid with the hole in it and slide the bar through. Continue gluing your second wheel and attach to the opposite end. You’ll now have the wheel assembly done and will only need to create the base for them to stay on.

Slide the assembled wheels into the bottom of the base and glue from the inside. Next move on to the boot assembly. We’ll start by gluing the base along the tabs to be glued onto the skate base. Continue folding along the scored lines and gluing to create the boot

After gluing the boot onto the base, add your ribbon, and then glue the base onto the wheel base and voila! Decorate as you please. I decided to add some stripes and a magical unicorn to mine :)

How will you decorate yours?

The top of the boot is open so you can use this as a gift or treat box, or you can just use it as a decoration!
