Simple Hello Die Cut Paper Greeting Card

Simple Hello Die Cut Paper Greeting Card

Hey y’all! Stephanie here from Coffee Stamps Chaos again. Today I have a simple project that uses leftover pieces of cardstock to create an easy card. As with most paper crafters, I have “scrap bins”, I keep cut pieces of Cardstock in them, that are ready to use when I need small pieces either for sentiments, for die cuts for my cards or for any other paper crafting needs. I personally do a lot of die cutting for my cards because I love it, and I hate wasting paper, especially my Cardstock warehouse Cardstock! For this project you will need:

Supplies:

  • Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
    • Marrs Green Colorplan
    • Imperial Blue Colorplan
    • Quartz Stardream Metallic
    • Sirio Ultra Black
  • Nuvo Glue
  • Quickie Glue Pen
  • ScorTape
  • die cutting machine
  • dies
  • paper trimmer

Steps:

I am using a border die that is lined with leaf shapes to create a background image. I die cut three of the leafy border strips out of  both Marrs and Imperial Blue cardstock.

Apply Scor-Tape adhesive to the back of the die cut pieces along the edge, then adhere second die along the long edge of the cut to create one piece. Then repeat this process with the other two sets.

Adhere die cuts to a sheet of Quartz cardstock that is a bit bigger than what you want your final panel to be.

Then I ran the entire panel with the die cuts adhered through a die cutting machine with a rectangle nesting die. I layered that panel onto a 4” x 5.25” piece of Imperial Blue cardstock, and then adhere that to an A2 Marrs card base.  The last thing I added to the background is a strip of Marrs layered on top of Quartz to adhere my sentiment to.

For my sentiment, I cut one in Imperial Blue, and three more from Sirio Ultra Black.
I glued the sentiment layers together to create a thick sentiment and give the card nice dimension. Then I adhered that to the front of the strips I added in the middle.
